Fresh off the back of his first sold-out North American Tour including dates at South By Southwest (SXSW) and Ultra Music Festival, exciting newcomer Youngr has just revealed his new single ‘Monsters’ released April 21st 2017 via Island Records.
The new single depicts a bored and frustrated kid at school doodling away his boredom by drawing monsters rather than paying attention, ‘Teacher, teacher don’t tell me things that don’t mean a thing to my life’. In his own words, Dario describes ‘Monsters’ as being about, ‘a song for all the day dreamers and doodlers! I wrote this about my childhood at school. I used to draw my maths teacher as a monster whilst counting down the seconds until I could run home and play my drum kit! So if anyone out there is fed up with school or work, put this track on and turn it up.’
It’s been less than 12 months since Youngr went viral with his self-released edgy pop-infused debut single ‘Out Of My System’ which now stands at over 21 million streams on Spotify. Prior to his first release he had initially begun to make a name for himself online with his unique and spectacular one-take live video’s, featuring his dance-floor friendly boot-legs of artists such as Daft Punk & Craig David with Youngr’s bootleg of Sweet Disposition by Temper Trap amassed over 10-millon views on Facebook during the first two weeks.
This year alone Youngr has already sold out tours across both Europe and North America and is set to take his transcendent live show to over 30 festivals over the summer. He will also be imminently announcing another headline show in London.
A music graduate and accomplished musician, Youngr has also recently remixed and stamped his unique bootleg style on Dua Lipa’s single ‘Be The One, Tove Lo ‘True Disaster and Mondo Cosmo ‘Shine’.
